Obsessions, for TiPP
A participatory handmade zine making project.
Over the course of three months, I facilitated a series of storytelling and zine making workshops for people who had experienced the justice system. I had conversations with participants about how they often felt they are labelled as ‘weird’ for having an intense interest in their hobbies. These hobbies ranged from building 3D models of vehicles, collecting old film posters, dinosaurs, music and cooking. I used this as the inspiration for the project, guiding participants through making zines on their hobbies and interests so as to celebrate them, rather than having them labelled as ‘weird’.
The zines are displayed as part of a zine library at the support space.
