HMP Forest Bank, for TiPP
A participatory mural painting project.
I worked with people who are incarcerated on the drug and recovery wing to create a mural on their unit. Over the course of five afternoons, I prompted participants to explore playfulness, movement and joy through the medium of paint. Participants were encouraged to engage in process based making, to think through making and to leave perfectionism at the door.
This mural is an ongoing project, another group will respond to the painted work with poetry later in 2026.
